Our two best Popes
There has been many popes in our history but none have been as good Pope Francis and Pope John Paul II. Pope Francis the 266th Pope was born Jorge Mario Bergoglio on December 17, 1936. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. One fact that is interesting is that he is the first Pope from Argentina. He his also the first Pope to take them name Francis. He did this because he loved nature like Pope Francis. Before he was Pope he studied chemistry at Diocesan Seminary in Buenos Aires. He was also a nightclub bouncer for a short period of time which is kind of strange. In 1969 he was ordained as a bishop. On March 13, 2013 he was made Pope. One of Pope Francis's main missions is to to stop abortion because he knows how wrong and sick it is. Pope Francis other focus is caring for the poor. He understands that the poor need caring just like anyone else. Pope Francis has gained a lot of popularity because of what he's done. He was not afraid to go up to congress which is a secular group and explain to them the importance of the Golden Rule. His mass in the Philippines gained about 6 million which just shows how popular he is. I think both Pope Francis and Pope John Paul II is a new light for the church in a time where people are turning away from God.
Another great Pope is Pope John Paul the 2nd. Pope John Paul was born Karol Wojtyla on May 18, 1920 in a small Polish village. His Brother, Father, and Brother all ended up dying. As sad as this is people who are orphans or people who have bad things happen to them can relate to him. When he was young he was very athletic and played many sports as soccer where he was a goalie. Also during his younger years he helped save the Jews from the Nazis. He learned 12 twelve different languages which is a lot. On November 1, 1946 he was ordained. Pope John Paul refused to fire guns which means he was anti-war. On October 18, 1978 he became the first Non Italian pope. While he was Pope he did many amazing things. He helped end communist rule in Poland and all over Europe. He understood that people should not be oppressed like then Jews in Ww2. He also wanted to bring all the religions such as the Jews, Muslims, and Christians to make a great religious armada. He accepted the ordination of Women and the Church's second vatican reforms. Like Pope Francis he also did not like Abortion and cared for the poor. He thought the death penalty was bad because only God has the power to kill. On May 31, 1981 he was shot four times but survived. After he healed he went back and forgave the man who shot which was very noble. One of his masses gained 5 million people. On April 2, 2005 he died of old age. Pope John Paul was a very influential Pope and will be remembered for years to come.
Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis are two very important Popes they worked on many of the same issues but also have differences. Pope John Paul II was born in Poland while Pope Francis was born in Argentina. Pope Francis was bold enough to address while Pope John Paul II did not. Pope John Paul's mass in the Philippines had 5 million people attending while Pope Francis's had 6 Million. Pope John Paul II had many more writings than Pope Francis. Pope
John Paul II's writings could amount to 20 bibles. It is likely Pope Francis will write more in the future because he just became the Pope. Pope Francis speaks six languages, Pope John Paul II was able to speak 12 different languages. Pope Francis I believe is more willing to answer questions that have a lot of controversy. Both Pope John Paul II and Pope Francis worked very hard to make the world a better place and have more similarities than differences. The two are both very influential and have made changes that affected the rest of the world.
