The Pie Summary
The Pie is an excerpt by Gary Soto which is about a himself when he is younger. At the beginning Soto talks about how he was very righteous and holy. One time though boredom made him sin while at a German market. All the pies looked so good so he decided to steal one and sneakily crept away. As he though about it though he started feeling bad and thinking about Adam and Eve and what happened to them when they ate the apple. After he finished eating it he felt very bad. He felt like everyone was watching him in disapproval. After that he went out and listened to the plumbing pipes and thought he heard God speaking to him. I think the theme of this story is doing bad things will give you consequences even if no one knows about it. That is a summary on Gary Soto's The Pie.
